From the door to a fully set-up app in three phases. For replacing an existing cat flap just as much as for a new installation in wood, metal, wall or glass.
Then switching is especially easy: remove your previous cat flap together with the ZeroMOUSE™ 2.0. You can usually keep using the existing opening, as well as your USB-C cable and power adapter. The app stays the same, too.
The AI cat flap recognises your cats and possible prey right inside the tunnel. These are the parts you will come across during installation and setup:
USB-C cable and USB power adapter (5 V, at least 2 A, CE-certified). Choose a cable that suits the installation location, e.g. not fabric-covered.

Get everything ready, quickly check your door and find the right screw length. Then the installation goes smoothly.
Never shorten the tunnel. It contains important components.
Only tighten the screws by hand. No cordless drill, only a manual screwdriver.

First choose your approach and the material of your door. After that, the steps are the same for everyone.
Remove the old cat flap – for ZeroMOUSE™ 2.0 users, together with the device. The existing opening stays in place, and on many models you can reuse the screw holes. You may need to enlarge the hole slightly.
First determine your cat’s step height. The lower edge of the opening should sit about 2 cm below this height.
The following steps describe exactly this case. There is nothing extra to consider.
Tempered glass (ESG) shatters when drilled. You need a prefabricated glass pane with a matching hole from a glazier. Order the hole diameter in advance to match the model; double glazing requires a special pane. Once the pane is installed, continue with step 1.
Open the drawer at the bottom on the inside of the flap. Pull the USB-C socket out slightly and connect it to the USB-C cable. Don’t plug in the power adapter yet. Close the drawer again and screw it in place from below using the screws provided.
Insert the cat flap into the opening in the door, wall or window from the inside of the house.
Look through the drilled holes from the outside and check that the screw holder sits centred to the hole. If not, take the flap out again and slide the screw holder horizontally until it is centred. A screwdriver in the holder helps with this.
Choose a suitable pair of screws (see Phase 1) and insert them into the drilled holes from the outside without tightening. As short as possible, but the screw head should keep at least 1 cm of distance from the surface so there is room for the cover.
Take the screws out again, place the outer frame on the tunnel from the outside and screw the inner and outer frame together with the chosen screws. Finally, put on the screw caps.
Tip: Reach inside through the open flap with one hand to hold the flap in place.
Power on, connect the app, done. After that, the AI gets to know your cats.
Now plug in the power adapter. The flap starts up and runs an LED and motor test (1× red, 1× green).
If the flap blinks green continuously, it is in setup mode and can be found via Bluetooth. Open the ZeroMOUSE™ app, add a new device and follow the instructions. Once the device has been added, the green blinking stops.
At first, assign lots of images to your cats. Start with the entry mode “Blocking Prey” and switch to “Face Detection” after about 10 confirmed events per cat.
